SEASONS SEASONS SEASONS SEASONS SEASONS SEASONS SEASONS

Hogmanay

I hear the rain

It's here to say

That's the old year

Washed away

I hear the wind

It's here too

Blowing out the old times

Bringing in the new

I hear myself

Above the storm

Thinking of the dear ones

Arms that kept me warm

I hear your voice

You hear mine too

I'll take a glass

And drink to you

It's old years day

I hear me say

'For auld lang syne'

On Hogmanay

Summer's Open Door

Bluebells flood the forest floor
The first great taste of summer’s lure
Tinkling bells tantalise  the ground
Shimmering violets ripple and resound
They tease and please between the trees
In a forest glade where light meets shade
And senses roar
The tall trees stretch and yawn, reborn
Then turn their eager faces
To summer’s open door.

Bluebells And Hyacinth Smells

Blue bells, hyacinth smells
Snow drops, bunny hops
Bird song, all night long
Daffodils on window cills
Morning sun, everyone
Cracking smiles, walking miles
Crocus heads in flower beds
Grasses grow, the seasons flow
Winter inter spring
Spring inter summer
Singing;
Blue bells, hyacinth smells
Rose hips, two lips
Lovers leap, chicks cheap
Blue skies, hover flies
Long day, children play
Far away, clouds build
Winds chilled, a leaf falls
Tomorrow calls
Another day, so they say
And then snowmen
Wooly hats, purring cats
Logs burn, cogs turn
Fire place, slower pace
Shivers run till the thaws come
Warm coats, sore throats
Dark nights, frost bites
Cosy bed, cuddles instead
Shoots form, rays warm
Blue bells, hyacinth smells
She sells sea shells
New page, old age
Tired out, can't shout
Lay down, don't frown
Go to sleep, not a peep
Goodbye now, kisses brow
Moon hides, new tides
Baby cries, wipe its eyes
Sunshines, better times
Blue bells, hyacinth smells.

The Spring

Senses lit by bulbs
The earth turns in its circle
Coloured rows of trumpets
Play out the changing days
Birds sing
And sunshine heralds the spring

Again

Wheels spin
Cogs engage
Life is replenished and renewed
Stirred from within
Hearts warmed
Passions sealed
And sucklings gambol in the field

Again

Trees stretch
Their branches flex
Blue Birds flutter and forage
And weave their wooly nests
Change is all around us
And change reminds tomorrow
Today heals yesterday's sorrow

Again & Again

Mayhem

The ground bubbled up like a stew
Nobody knew what to do
It was running away
Like the month of May
Then the sky tumbled in too.

Fall & Leaves (10w)

Falling leaves
Leaving trees
Summer's done
Autumn's come.

Summer

T-shirt weather
Playing together
Sunshine and sea
Fish and chips for tea
Sand pies
Deck chairs
Sun burn
No cares
And a donkey ride for me

Summer Sunday Afternoon

Slouching  under the sun
Eyes squinting
Ice melting in your drink
The pool inviting you in
Time moves slowly
Affording space to think
You think about having a swim
Or letting the sun move
Over your back
Or going inside to see what's there
For a snack
Pour another drink
Flop back down in the chair
And wait
Till the sun slides over there
Maybe you'll follow it
And maybe you'll not
Palm leaves flailing in the breeze
That breathes on the Costa Teguise

Ironically it all ends too soon
Lazing
On a summer's Sunday afternoon

Walking In Summer Rain

Walking in summer rain
Walking in April showers
Walking in winters snow
Falling leaves and fading flowers.
The seasons come and go
And reason often fails to show
What wise men claim to know
That Beelzebub lives down below
And there's a nice man in the sky above
With silver hair and doves of love
All we need to do is pass the test
And that nice old man will smile and do the rest
All we need to do is say the word
How absurd just say a word
On our knees with wrists raised to accept the chains of love
From above.
Walking in summer's sun
Walking in springtime's glimpse of hope
Walking in winters chill
Autumnal hues and chestnuts on a rope
The seasons come and go
And reason often fails to show
What wise men claim to know
That Beelzebub lives down below
And there's a nice man in the sky above
With silver hair and doves of love
All we need to do is pass the test
And that nice old man will smile and do the rest
All we need to do is say the word
How absurd just say a word
On our knees with wrists raised to accept the chains of love
From above.
Walking in the heat from the sun
Walking in the falling rain
Walking in the bitter frosty morn
Wrapped in chains and gone insane.
