The Seditious Wizard

Early one morning
As first light was dawning
A gorgeous big lizard
Woke up in bed

With a seditious old wizard
The wizard's eyes were closed
His wand lay there exposed
So that lizard sunk his teeth in
And the wizard's wand was eaten
The lizard thought he was chokin'
But the wizard's spell was broken.

(amongst other things)
Little else was spoken
While the wizard lay there smokin'
Then the lizard slithered away
To greet the brand new day.

A Town Long Ago

There was a town long ago
That sorcerers did know
A fabled town beyond the crown
In legends myths and tales laid down
T'was said the town had healing powers
In natural springs and volcanic showers
When wizards felt unwell
They would go there for a spell
If their wand had wilted
Or if their wizard's hat had tilted
The potency of those local forces
Put them back on their noble courses.

It returned the colour to their cheeks
And put the spring back in their breeks.

Climb Upon The Moon

I went to climb upon the moon
And crossed the sky on silver spoon
I wandered wide and far and near
And looked upon our world so dear
But don’t look up to me...
There's very little there to see
And don't look down on fallow ground
Where mystery sulks a secret's found
The privilege is not in being
It's in the honour of what you’re seeing
The journey isn't where you go
But all of what you come to know.

The Man From The Future

Who’d like to meet the man from the future,
Who can remake the world however it suits you?

He can step back in time and turn water to wine,
He’s the saviour of souls, the maker of goals
He's the author of all that’s Divine.

The stalker of death, the giver of breath,
The angel of light, the path through the night,
The answers to all of your prayers.

He’s the man from the future in the spaceship that toots you
As it slips through the eye of a needle.

He’s the impossible dream who makes the impossible seem
Like the truth’s at the top of the stairs.

He’s the giver of hope who meets out the rope
And he dangles his noose from the steeple.

The pauser of thought whose will can’t be bought,
The seer of all that is seen.

He’s waiting for you to discover him too
But to walk one step in his tired old shoe
Puts you back at the back of the queue for the queue.

The journey ahead, like the journey behind
Is mapped in the twinkling stars.

A flickering light, a mortal whim,
The moon jumps up and the sun grows dim.

The hope for the world in the beat of a heart,
A child cries out for its mother.

Chilled by the wind as the angels depart
And with only a shroud for a cover.

Emeralds Gaurd The Path

The seven sided sun god slays the soldiers of the night
And all of darkness fears his wrath
While emeralds guard the path.

The wizened wizard wearies with lights eternal fight
Exponent of the ancient craft
And emeralds guard the path.

The melancholy moon mourns her loss of sight
Strives to keep us safe
And emeralds keep the faith.

The Eternal Dream

We've come this far
To see only distant horizons of a land
The sun has never lit

We are bathed in pools of brightness
But fear the dark
And the emptiness of it.

We are watched through the sightless eyes of a woman
No one has ever really seen
And we draw symbols on the walls
That others may ponder what they really mean

We love the lives of those
We've never known
And all the time we never move
From where we've always been
And all the time we never really leave
This eternal dream.

The Wizard's Hand

A wizard's hand
A wizened smile
A welcome hearth
A magic tile
A travellers tale
A hearty feast
A jug of ale
Talk of the beast
A dark night
A piercing howl
A cutting wind
A fearsome growl
Dark forces
Kept in check
A wizard's hand
A virgin's neck
A misty morn
Cloudy breath
Crispy footfalls
Talk of death
A broken branch
A pool of blood
Signs of struggle
In the wood
Lost souls
Frozen time
Enchanted forest
Heinous crime
Raised aloft
A crooked staff
Marshals forces
A manic laugh
Lightning strikes
Darkness pales
A mighty struggle
A demon fails
Conflicting silence
A pain filled land
Held in check
By a wizard's hand

A bat out of hell with blind tidings to tell (10w)
